Gem - Richmond: Anderson's one sweet destination
Every
Thursday night (no holidays or on dates of major
shows) at 8:00 (doors open at 7:00) $5 to enter (must be 21 or older) The Midwest Comedy Showcase was co-founded by local comedian Matt Drufke and Borth Belt Comedy producer Bert Borth. The show is designed to bring local stand-up comics into West Dundee. Hosted by Matt Drufke, the Midwest Comedy Showcase brings the best comics from Chicago and cities all over the Illinois area.
Matt Drufke is a comedian who is a regular at
Comedy Comedy in Aurora and The Edge Comedy Club in
Chicago. He is also appearing on Comcast OnDemand
through January 19th. He has lived in the
McHenry/Kane County area his entire life. Part of the
reason Drufke is so interested in this show is because
there are no showcases of local comics in this area.
All of the open mics are dedicated mainly towards
music, and the closest place to see comedy is The
Improv in Schaumburg, which focuses primarily on
national headliners. The Midwest Comedy Showcase is a
fantastic chance for people in the Dundee area to see
a fantastic comedy show for a cheap price with
incredible talent. We will be going every Thursday
night, except on holidays, or when The Clearwater will
be bringing in national comedy headliners, which will
